From abandoned buildings to discarded porcelain figures to forgotten faces, these photographs seek to capture the beauty and mystery of the forgotten and overlooked.

Frame of Mind 2023 is the convergence of multiple Black artists' work reflecting an array of perspectives, styles and techniques. The exhibit pulls together a dynamic representation of cultural heritage, experience, and identity across the diaspora. Art Ventures offers the opportunity with this diversity of works to gain a deep understanding of the richness and diversity of art, and how it is used as a powerful tool for self-expression and for social change. Additionally, Frame of Mind 2023 gives you a chance to see works by both established and emerging artists who reflect the past, present, and future through a culturally sophisticated lens.

The Fear of the Fearless
January 26, 2023 - March 18, 2023
Art Ventures is thrilled to announce its exhibit sponsored by CACHE Creative Exchange Fund supported through a grant from the Tyson Family Foundation. The Fear of The Fearless, at The Medium located at 214 S Main St, Springdale, AR 72764 will feature an assemblage of 3D ceramic works, paintings, and photography by Eric Andre, Vincent Frimpong, and Markeith Woods. It will be on display from January 26th to March 18th, with an opening reception on January 26th from 5-8 pm.

Protecting Our Peace invites you to consider the places you feel most peaceful and at ease. Is it in the mountains? Near water? Or trees? Often these quiet natural spaces allow our busy minds to at last rest, and provide us a greater perspective on life. Spending time in nature has been proven in numerous studies to help with mental health. However, despite the invaluable resources, both external and internal, that nature provides us, many of our natural spaces are in danger from erosion, deforestation, pollution, and other human-created crises.

Welcome to the Palace is an exhibition of Zeek Taylor’s highly imaginative, gilded works that celebrate a spirit of playfulness and glamor. In Zeek Taylor’s palace one will see chimps decked out in their finest clothes, flowers garbed in colorful glory, and Bacchus, the God of Wine, lounging amidst luscious grapes. Taylor’s style bends the rules of realism in order to showcase pattern and color theory, creating a sense of fantasy and fun.

Macro/Micro showcases Jay McDonald’s unique photography, which includes close-ups of small scale subjects (an ant, dry and cracking earth, the petals of a flower) and big picture landscapes (the Australian Outback, old buildings.) With careful attention to the direction of light, the scale of the subject, and the composition of colors, McDonald depicts the unique beauty of each subject he turns his eye towards.

Goal 14, Water for Life features four Latinx artists: Lourdes Valverde, David Gómez, Briseida Ochoa, and Dexta Rodríguez. The name of the exhibition is taken from the landmark document compiled by the United Nations, “Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.

It Came From Outer Space

Art Ventures paired extraterrestrial sculpture pieces by Cheri Bohn and Tom Flynn as well as space-inspired paintings by Rani Bondhus with the TheatreSquared production of It Came From Outer Space. All three artists demonstrate a keen sense of curiosity, mystery, and whimsy in their art. Rani Bondhus’s planetary paintings depict foreign worlds that are bright and inviting, while Bohn and Flynn craft otherworldly beings and spaceships that might navigate between those worlds. When viewed alongside the musical they create a diorama of all that excites our imagination and sense of wonder beyond the stars.

Threads of Identity

Art Ventures presents Threads of Identity, an exhibition from represented and visiting artists on view at the Art Ventures Gallery from June 29 - August 28. This exhibition features works within the subject of fashion and style that explores artistic expression and cultural identity. The artworks demonstrate how fashion and art may be intertwined through ceramics, textile artwork, jewelry making, traditional painting, clothing design, and other mediums.
Threads of Identity features work in a variety of mediums by Japheth Asiedu-Kwarteng, Cheri Bohn, Rani Leia Bondhus, Shelby Fleming, Adam Douglas Fulwiler, Drew Gentle, Eloa Jane, Cheryl Kellar, Mack Leal, Connie Lim, Leslie Perryman, Denise Sagan, Kathleen B. Schwarz, and Gala Reneaum Tello.
