The Fear of the Fearless

Art Ventures is thrilled to announce its exhibit sponsored by CACHE Creative Exchange Fund supported through a grant from the Tyson Family Foundation. The Fear of The Fearless, at The Medium located at 214 S Main St, Springdale, AR 72764 will feature an assemblage of 3D ceramic works, paintings, and photography by Eric Andre, Vincent Frimpong, and Markeith Woods. It will be on display from January 26th to March 18th, with an opening reception on January 26th from 5-8 pm.

The Fear of the Fearless examines why marginalized and displaced communities are often seen as a threat to society and receive inhumane treatment. The exhibit is a call to action to stop hiding behind the veil of ignorance and admit the uncomfortable realities of the world resulting from fear of the unknown. It encourages viewers to embrace the courage to stand up and speak out against oppressive systems and barriers holding marginalized communities back.

About the artists:

Eric Andre is an interdisciplinary artist from Ghana whose works explore the experiences of immigrants, including displacement, vulnerability, and the negotiation of place. His art challenges sociocultural, sociopolitical, and socioeconomic systems of control and delves into the complexities of the politics of space.

In his work, Vincent Frimpong is a contemporary ceramist from Ghana who has explored the question of what it means to be African. He seeks to affirm the core of African power within himself and others, and his art reflects this theme.

Markeith Woods is a multidisciplinary artist from Pine Bluff, AR who explores the intersection of identity, race, and history in his work. Woods is interested in the ways in which societal systems of control, such as racism and white supremacy, shape the lives of marginalized communities. Through his art, he seeks to challenge these systems and create a space for marginalized voices to be heard.
