"OUTrageous" is a powerful and timely exhibition that personifies Art Ventures’ commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ Community. The exhibition represents a defiant assertion of queer creativity, expression, and identity. “OUTrageous” does this against the backdrop of regressive laws and policies that seek to undermine the rights and dignity of queer individuals across the country.
The exhibition showcases the works of both Represented and Visiting Artists, providing queer individuals with an opportunity to define and celebrate what queer art means to them. By doing so, "OUTrageous" aims to challenge the misconceptions and stereotypes that have been historically associated with queer art, while also creating a space for queer artists to share their stories, experiences, and perspectives. -

It Came From Outer Space
TheatreSquared
477 West Spring Street, FayettevilleAugust 22 - September 25, 2022
Art Ventures paired extraterrestrial sculpture pieces by Cheri Bohn and Tom Flynn as well as space-inspired paintings by Rani Bondhus with the TheatreSquared production of It Came From Outer Space. All three artists demonstrate a keen sense of curiosity, mystery, and whimsy in their art. Rani Bondhus’s planetary paintings depict foreign worlds that are bright and inviting, while Bohn and Flynn craft otherworldly beings and spaceships that might navigate between those worlds. When viewed alongside the musical they create a diorama of all that excites our imagination and sense of wonder beyond the stars.

Putman House
20 South Hill Avenue, FayettevilleMarch 2 - May 1, 2022
Throughout modern times, women’s participation and impact on life on all levels have been marginalized. Values generally exhibited in women–compassion, kindness, thinking critically, not wanting to kill and colonize–are seen as ineffective in human progress, and from the heart. This exhibition, From the Heart - The Power of It! highlights that women maintain voices that empower the values they hold dear, that the work to pursue goals without bias or barriers is ongoing. From the Heart - The Power of It! honors women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements, despite structural opposition. It is a celebration of how women continue to advocate for themselves and the world around them.
