Calm before Chaos
TheatreSquared
477 West Spring Street, FayettevilleApril 16, 2025 - May 4, 2025
The art exhibition, Calm before Chaos, features a series of works by Karolyn Farrell with selected pieces by Amy Eichler. These visual narratives serve as a meditation on temporal dislocation—capturing the fragile threshold between the familiar and the forgotten. The exhibition reflects quotidian tranquility that becomes fragmented recollections of memory that will be a historical past that recedes beyond the limits of individual and collective imagination.

AV's BAI and Fat Ham
TheatreSquared
477 West Spring Street, FayettevilleApril 19, 2024 - May 14, 2024
BAI's (Carl Karni-Bain) figures bend the narrative of gender mythology to include the often excluded. Their representation is not make-believe, but true contemporary and desired freedoms as expressed in Fat Ham by James IJames and directed by Monteze Freeland at T2.
Fat Ham, the 2022 Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama is a "deliciously funny send-up of Shakespeare’s Hamlet...When the ghost of Juicy’s father demands that Juicy avenge his murder, fatal intent doesn't come easy to this sensitive, self-aware, young Black man in search of his own happiness and liberation."
