The liverwort was named in ancient times by people who thought that their liver could be cured with the help of this plant. “Wort” means small plant, which is fitting, as this plant is less than 1 inch tall. They are spongy and scale-like and grow on warm, damp, dark rocks. I find liverworts interesting and wanted to study them.
