About Kamaal Manboard

Biography

Kamaal Manboard was born and raised amidst the picturesque landscapes of Negril, Jamaica, WI, and his artistic journey began early. While his formal education focused on Architecture (BA in Architectural Studies), Kamaal's innate passion for art led him toward a multidisciplinary exploration. Inspired by his surroundings and cultural heritage, Kamaal's work seamlessly blends tradition and innovation. His artistic style is a testament to his eclectic influences and boundless imagination. With a keen eye for detail and a penchant for experimentation, he navigates effortlessly between mediums, weaving intricate narratives that resonate with viewers whether through vibrant paintings that evoke a sense of nostalgia or meticulously crafted 3D models that push the boundaries of visual storytelling. Manboard exhibited and painted portraits of the church structures in his iconic style in Fayetteville Arkansas at the properties of two Black historic churches, St. James United Methodist and Squire Jehagen Outreach Center of St. James Baptist. Both institutions were established over a century ago and represent the last African American community formed in northwest Arkansas after 1865. The original artwork are gifts to each institution.
