“Constructions, Carvings, & Curiosities" by Frank Goff is an enthralling exhibition that explores the convergence of botanicals, bones, wood, and mosaics, inviting viewers to delve into the intricacies of nature through the artist's masterful creations. Goff's artistic prowess is showcased through three distinct mediums: small-scale scratchboard drawings, abstract wooden sculptures, and large-scale constructed mosaics. Throughout his diverse body of work, an intriguing quality emerges—an enigmatic dark stickiness that weaves its way into each piece, adding depth and complexity to Goff’s narrative.

Goff's small-scale scratchboard drawings demonstrate his meticulous attention to detail and skillful craftsmanship. These compositions unveil the delicate lines and textures inherent in botanicals and bones, evoking a sense of reverence for the transient fragility of life. Amidst the vibrant portrayals of nature's vitality, a mysterious undercurrent of black adds an intriguing element. This captures the viewer's imagination and invites contemplation of the puzzling forces that shape the natural world.

The abstract wooden sculptures presented in this exhibition celebrate the inherent beauty found within nature’s organic processes. Goff collaborates with the wood itself, embracing its innate characteristics to shape sculptures that askew traditional forms. Each piece becomes a harmonious confluence of human ingenuity and the natural elements, allowing viewers to appreciate the dialogue between creative intent and the organic grain and texture of the medium.

As the culmination of the exhibition, Goff's large-scale constructed mosaics transport viewers into visually captivating landscapes that vividly capture the expansive scope of nature's rhythmic circles. These mosaics eloquently embody the harmonious interplay of colors, shapes, and textures, unveiling a symphony that echoes the cycles of creation, destruction, and decay found within the natural world. Through meticulous construction techniques, Goff invites viewers to delve into the intricate details of these mosaics, encouraging contemplation of the profound interconnectedness between the rhythmic patterns of nature and the power that emerges from their amalgamation.
