The Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center at the University of Arkansas will host Reclamations from Friday, Nov. 15 until Friday, Jan. 17. Reclamations highlights contemporary indigenous North American art. The pieces that remain through trauma and ravage are powerful cultural DNA. They take shape in contemporary reflections that mark survival and beauty. Artists in this exhibit, made possible by a partnership with Art Ventures NW Arkansas, are Native peoples from the northwest Arkansas region. Featured artists include Roy Boney (Cherokee), Bobby Martin (Muskogee – Creek), Lauren Reed (Choctaw – Cherokee), Erin Shaw (Chickasaw – Choctaw) and Kindra Swafford (Cherokee). The exhibit also includes José “Pepo” Toledo (Guatemala).
