Tertiary Period, 5-1.8 Ma The bird Titanis walleri was named after its titan size---330 pounds, with a height of 4-6 feet, and walleri after its collector Benjamin Waller. Its family of birds are known as “Terror Birds”. Titanis ran superfast, grabbed small mammals with its talons, and then used its pointed beak to kill. It lived in Texas and Florida.
