Delita Martin is an artist currently based in Huffman, Texas. She received a BFA in drawing from Texas Southern University and an MFA in printmaking from Purdue University. Formerly a member of the fine arts faculty at University of Arkansas – Little Rock, Martin currently works as a full-time artist in her studio, Black Box Press. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally including at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art inaugural exhibition, State of the Art: Discovering American Art Now, an exhibition that included 101 artists from throughout the United States.
On January 17, 2020 the National Museum of Women in the Arts opened Delita Martin: Calling Down the Spirits, showcasing seven of her works. Martin’s work can also be found in numerous portfolios and collections around the world.
