AV's BAI and Fat Ham

April 19, 2024 - May 12, 2024

BAI's (Carl Karni-Bain) figures bend the narrative of gender mythology to include the often excluded. Their representation is not make-believe, but true contemporary and desired freedoms as expressed in Fat Ham by James IJames and directed by Monteze Freeland at T2.

Fat Ham, the 2022 Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama is a "deliciously funny send-up of Shakespeare’s Hamlet...When the ghost of Juicy’s father demands that Juicy avenge his murder, fatal intent doesn't come easy to this sensitive, self-aware, young Black man in search of his own happiness and liberation."

March 25, 2024 - April 15, 2024

David Gomez’s Solo Exhibition at TheatreSquared’s run of Laughs in Spanish gives T2 audiences visual verification of the premise for the play. Gomez’s fabulous art is authentic, Art Basel worthy, transparently shares visual culture, and what we miss when diversity does not undergird the arts ecosystem where representation is always a challenge.

David has exhibited in New York, NY, Milan, Italy, Paris, France, Madrid, Spain and Northwest Arkansas. He is represented by Art Ventures – NWA.

Virtual exhibitions are here to stay!

They are unique shows run concurrently with in-person exhibitions. Also check out other videos on our YouTube Channel.

#NWAJuneteenth 2021 Exhibition

#NWAJuneteenth is a virtual gallery of video exhibitions by local and regional Black artists who continue to work for freedom in America. Several of them have answered the question, “what does Juneteenth mean to me?” It is great to hear what they know, and we can find familiarity in their experiences. Their answers are much like that of other American Black families.

Importantly, the artwork attests to the role of artists in building strength in community and culture.
